Borgo San Felice
Borgo San Felice is a magical oasis in which to experience the emotions of Tuscany’s true soul. Today this former Chianti village is a fabulous rural retreat where guests can expect the warmest of welcomes and the highest levels of service.
In Borgo San Felice you discover the Chianti area at its most charming: endless rows of vines, forests of oaks and holm oaks, and the towers of Siena on the horizon.
Borgo San Felice was founded around the 8th century and has hardly changed in time. In 1991 it was restored and transformed into a 5 star hotel safekeeping the architectural features of the village’s medieval buildings, stone homes, chapel and picturesque streets, maintaining intact its rural imprint consistent with the authenticity of the territory.
The hotel has 29 Double rooms and 17 Suites scattered throughout the historical buildings of this medieval village. Some are located in the palace that was once the home of the Marquis of Taja; others are situated in the ancient houses located in the vicinity of the village’s main square. Careful and accurate refurbishing carried out with special attention to each and every detail has maintained intact the rural aspect of these ancient buildings.
The rooms and suites have inherited from the past handcrafted antique furniture, precious fabrics, wood-beamed ceilings, terracotta tile floors, stone arches and bathrooms decorated with lovely, luxurious Tuscan tiles.
Careful selection of colours and dyes and rigorous attention to detail helped to recreate a true, authentic atmosphere of these ancient aristocratic manors.
At Borgo San Felice, even the most demanding guests can savor and enjoy exceptional Tuscan cuisine in the exclusive Il Poggio Rosso, restaurant, a warm welcoming setting decorated with fine Tuscan country-style furnishings, enhanced by superb attention to detail and impeccable service.
The renowned Chef, Francesco Bracali, 2 Michelin star holder, is responsible for the gourmet experience at Poggio Rosso restaurant. Here he presents exceptional dishes based on local culinary traditions revisited through personal interpretation and astounding creativity, using top quality locally produced ingredients. At Borgo San Felice’s barbecue corner “Angolo Barbecue” with its authentic Tuscan setting and with its layback, easy-going atmosphere represents a valid alternative to the hotel’s main restaurant, Poggio Rosso and its more formal tone tasting the legendary Tuscan meats.
It is also possible to choose between a vast range of body and beauty treatments, all sharing the same bond that connects science to nature. For better care of the body and to ensure moments of relaxation, a fitness center and a relaxing sauna.
