Wine tasting

Tuscany is very much about wine, either from the Chianti or Monalcino regions which produce one of the most exclusive and expensive wines in Italy, the Brunello di Montalcino. Make sure you stop by some vineyards, particularly during the quieter time of the year (not the summer months) you can just drop in at any vineyard to sample some of their wines free of charge. However it is in generally better to organize a tour in advance by sending the vineyard an email beforehand. They normally take you around the vineyard, explain about the production and in the end let you sample different wines. The tour takes between 1 – 2 hours and normally costs between 10 – 20 Euros.
